Basement
The Basement is a semi-private event space within D&AD's offices, offering a studio-style lower-floor area suited to collaborative creative work. The room pairs an exposed industrial ceiling and track lighting with a neutral concrete floor, timber finishes and low-profile lounge seating to create a practical, understated environment. A long communal timber table, a separate lounge area and a service counter with stools divide the space into distinct zones for seated work, informal breakout and food service. A built-in PA system and speakers support presentations and background music, whilst high-speed Wi-Fi and air conditioning sustain extended working sessions. A floor-to-ceiling wall of reference books and display panels serves as both a practical design resource and visual backdrop. The room adapts to different configurations for seated workshops, presentations or standing receptions, and your own music is permitted. Wheelchair access and accessible toilets are provided.
